How’s it going everyone? So my stomach is in the process of shrinking back to its normal size after a vacation of crazy nomage. It’s been hard not to just graze on anything every chance I get so the temptation has been a little rough, but hopefully that will subside by the end of the week. I just need to get to the mindset of “no silly brain! You don’t need that extra taco or extra [fill in the blank with something delicious.]” We’ll just see how that goes. Almost every time I’ve put a time frame on my weight loss I have missed the mark so I’m apprehensive to even talk about this. But what the heck… So in 6 weeks, it will be my anniversary of my weight loss journey. It’s been an amazing escapade so far, and I’m only 4.8 pounds away from breaking the 100 pound mark. I know that a time frame doesn’t matter, but it would be freaking awesome to have lost 100 pounds in under a year because I set out for that goal in high school and most people said I probably couldn’t do it. I don’t what to loose it out of spite, I just think it would be pretty tight. So we will just see, but that means I need to buckle down and drop some pounds yo!
Breakfast: Wafflewich. Enough said.
Lunch: I had a Kung Pao Healthy Choice Steamers for lunch and they are usually pretty awesome. It was really good with a little sweet and spicy mustard. Yumtastic.
Snack: I was over at Starbucks for the afternoon to get stuff done (which actually turned in to going crazy on Spotify and being a Facebook prostitute, but that’s neither here nor there) so I had a NV granola bar and a skinny caramel macchiato. It was the best Starbucks drink I’ve had in a long time, so I was worried that it was no skinny. I’ll give Starbucks the benefit of the doubt.
Dinner: Tonight, we made tacos! Ole! I had two soft tacos and then had some nachos with the left over black beans. Pretty awesome.
SAWS!!!: After dinner, we went over to Leach for some SAWSness. I did the total body program on the elliptical for 40 minutes. It was a really good sweat. I’m a little gunshy to lift weights because my left arm felt really strained after just doing one machine on the other day. I didn’t have any of these pains during Insanity, but it came back in the gym. I’m going to try doing some free weights tomorrow and we will just see how that goes.
Snack: I had a small bowl of honey nut cheerios (not clumps of hair involved) and some Rainier and Bing cherries. I’ve never had a Rainier cherry and all I have to say it WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN ALL OF MY LIFE DELICIOUSNESS!?!
So today was pretty good. I haven’t added everything up yet, but I think I’ll be okay since I worked out. See ya tomorrow.
Today was the first day of getting back on the bandwagon… again and I think it went really well. When I first went in to this weight loss ordeal, I thought “I’ll never fall off, I’ll never fall off, I’ll never fall off” but you can’t go in with that mindset. Now, I’m in the mindset of Chumbawamba: “I get knocked down, but I get up again, you never gonna keep me down!” The secret to the success of weight loss is sheer perseverance and a tenacity to keep your chin up (out of the plate of the chocolate covered french fries) even when you don’t want to get off the couch to go work out or when that second piece of cheesecake is calling your name. Anyways, food time.
Breakfast: I had a fantastic wafflewich with a beautifully delicious cup of coffee. What an awesome breakfast! (Seriously, if you haven’t tried to make one, do it tomorrow!)
Lunch: Before I went to work, Megan and I went over to Jimmy John’s for lunch. I had the Beach Club with half the mayo. It was as awesome as always.
Snack: Before I went to work out I had a Clif Bar. So good.
SAWS!!! After work, Megan and I went over to Leach for some SAWS Awesomeness. I did a few arm exercises and then did a 30 minute fat burn program on the elliptical. I burned around 500 calories today. I can’t wait to work out tomorrow! MEOW!
Dinner: Tonight, I had the urge to fire up the grill so we made some turkey burgers! I took the recipe from the WW cookbook, it’s a classic. Megan also made some sweet potatoes slices. We also used onion bagels for the buns. Pretty awesome.
Snack: Megan popped some popcorn on the element. Have you ever tried that? Sooooo good.
So today was a step in the right direction. I’m going to keep it up! See ya tomorrow.
So after a trip full of eating a lot of rich delicious food and snacking snacking snacking, I thought I was going to have to pay the piper. I was ready to accept the consequences. I mean, you do need to still live your life, not to mention we were on vacation. However, that is a fine line between being on vacation and completely vacating your diet. (Does anyone know what I’m talking about?) Anyways, last week I didn’t weigh so it’s been two weeks so I was a little concerned, but it turned out alright. I gained .6 pound during our trip. I was worried that it was going to be bad. I mean, it’s still a gain, but I’m back on the wagon, the vacation is over, and I’m ready to DROP SOME POUNDS!!!!! GAME TIME BABY!!!!!
Breakfast: This morning was kind of a whirlwind so I had a wafflewich with bananas (b-a-n-a-n-a-s) and it was pretty awesome. Also during church I had a strawberry muffin.
Lunch: The whirlwind of the day continued. After church, we went out to Lake Ella and made sandwiches for the homeless and really anyone who was out there. I just had a bag of potato chips.
Snack: After moving a dresser in to our house (score for all your friends moving out while you need more furniture! Holla!) I had a bowl of honey nut cheerios. They were delicious. It’s taken me a long time to like honey nut cheerios again because one time when I was 4 I was eating a bowl and then I pulled out a clump of hair that had 12 cheerios attached to it out of my mouth. Yeah, it was super gross.
Snack: Later that afternoon, we went over to TCBY for some fro yo awesomeness. I had a kids cup of toffee crunch fro yo with some peanut butter cups. The kids cup is definitely the best deal and filling. Pretty studly.
Dinner: You know there are those meals that you miss when you are away? Because that totally happened with chili. We made it for dinner tonight and oh boy oberto it was freakin’ delicious. Megan is an awesome cook. Enough said.
So today I did pretty well getting back on the wagon. I’m going to hit up the gym or something tomorrow too. I don’t know if I’m going to do Insanity, but I don’t know. We will just see. See ya tomorrow.
Did you miss me? Because oh me oh my did I miss y’all!!! It was a crazy week of vacationing awesomeness involving many miles walked, mounds of delicious food consumed and plenty of annoyed tourists. My family and us had a blast hanging out again and I miss them already. When Megan and I go to Disney, we usually don’t eat at too many of the restaurants, but since we were with my family we ate at all the awesome places. We also snacked a lot this trip as well which was good, but it meant that we needed to watch how much we ate.
Anyways, one advantage of Disney is you get your steps in. We walked 54.24 miles this week which was mostly done in flip flops (bad idea) and in high humidity (also a bad idea) so it didn’t quite offset our calories, but it helped I think. I’ll put up the pics on Wordless Wednesday so get stoked for that!
Breakfast: I had a waffle with some peanut butter and then we went over to my parent’s hotel and had some pretty good oatmeal. (Well… good for a hotel.)
Lunch: Before my parents headed out of town, we decided to hit up Jimmy Jonh’s for some subtastic awesomeness. I had the Beach Club which had turkey, sprouts, avocado spread (is that the same as guacamole?), and other great veggies. I should have held the mayo, but I forgot. Oops.
Dinner: We were planning on eating chili for dinner, but then were invited to Sonny’s for dinner. I had the Big Salad (yes… that’s what it’s called) with chargrilled chicken. I was going to have ranch dressing but Megan didn’t like her honey mustard so I traded with her. It was better on my salad so it worked out. I really liked the crasins with candied pecans on it. So awesome.
So today was a pretty good food day. I don’t know how weigh in day will go. I’m not going to lie, I did overindulge a lot on this trip, but we will just see how it goes. See ya tomorrow.
Sorry for the no-post last night. Forgive me?
So my mom, dad and sis got in to Tallahassee last night and tomorrow we are on going to be on the way to Disney!!! Today, we gave them the tour dejour of Tallahassee (showing them my new office at FSU and meeting The Wolf, eating, going the most ghetto Walmart in the nation, then eating again.) It’s been an awesome day.
Breakfast: I got to sleep in (score) so I just had a bowl of Kashi Awesomeness. Hooray!
Lunch: My dad’s favorite place in Tallahassee is Monk’s so we went there for their famous burgers. I had the Veggie burger with sweet potato fries and then we all shared the artichoke dip. I only had half of the burger and the fries and I was pretty full. It’s nice to be full but not stuffed. So awesome.
Dinner: For dinner, we went to the swashbuckling depths of Barnacle Bill’s. Generally, non-fried seafood is pretty healthy so I had the Alaskan crab legs with new potatoes, a salad with a raspberry vinaigrette and I steered clear of the butter. Awesomeness.
So today I was pretty good. Every time I’ve gone to Disney I’ve lost weight (last time we walked a total of 30 miles) but since my parents are going, we are going to eat really well so I’m just going to watch what I eat and then share with Megan on some meals. Luckily, the hotel has wifi so expect some awesome vlogs, pics and other awesomeness. See ya tomorrow.
Breakfast: So we didn’t have any milk and I was in a rush (again) so I had a cup of dry oatmeal squares. It worked for this morning.
Lunch: So I had to be on the other side of town this afternoon and the food selection is not of the healthiest persuasion. I ended up going to Moe’s and had the Art Vandalay (I know, awesome name) which is a veggie burrito. Again, I didn’t hold things like sour cream and guacamole but at the time I didn’t think about it. Overall though it was a good lunch (good being it was delicious, but too many calories.)
SAWS: Today was the off day for Insanity so even though we are a few days behind, will be close to being back on schedule. Tomorrow is going to suck.
Snack: So I had to do some grading so I had a shaken iced tea with lemonade. I would have just gotten coffee, but the coffee at that particular Starbucks is usually burnt. I should of just had water.
This is where the sucking began: We were trying to figure out what we were going to do for dinner so I calculated my food. Basically, what I got at Moe’s ruined my day. I didn’t realize that there was a junior version of the Art Vandalay which would have saved me a lot of calories. So by the time dinner rolled around, I was already almost over my calories so a 500 calorie dinner was not going to fly. I didn’t know what to do. I know I have “weekly points” so to speak, but the second half of this week is going to involve a lot of eating out so I want to save those. I was really frustrated, but I eventually calmed down and had one serving of Quinoa which was only 140 calories. I wasn’t hungry until about now so I’m going all Bugs Bunny on some baby carrots.
So today I got to 1521 calories, 48.5 grams of fat, and 24 grams of fiber. I usually would be okay if I had worked out, but since it was an off day and I didn’t have time to work out, it just didn’t work… out. Anyways, tomorrow will be better (and not just because it’s Wordless Wednesday!) See ya tomorrow.
So the objective of these week was to stick close to my calories while working my butt off. I think I accomplished that today. Legit.
Breakfast: For some reason, my alarm clock acts like it’s going off (there is a blinking light) but no sound comes out, but luckily I’m paranoid enough to set alarms on my phone too so I got a bit of a late start. Anyways, so I just had two pieces of toast and some pb.
Lunch: I was in a bit of a rush (again) for lunch so I had some Southwest Quinoa Awesomeness that Megan made for lunch. Megan made it with tri-colored quinoa this time which I think made it taste even better. Pretty awesome lunch.
Snacks: I kind of went nuts for snacks today. Even after lunch I was like I’M STILL SOOOOO HUNGRY!!!!!! So I had some chips, which I ate few chips over a serving but I was bordering that mindless state that you can get in where you are looking off in to space with a bag of opened chips. It’s a scary thing to do, but luckily I caught myself while I was doing it. I also had a 100 calorie Starbucks Mocha Frap and a few carrots with some hummus. I think I was so snacky is because I hadn’t had any water at that point. I really don’t know if that was it, but still. I also had a KAshi Peanuty Dark Chocolate bar. (Target has a killer deal on Kashi. Go check it out!)
SAWS!!!: Today was Plyometric Cardio Circuit again and it was brutal… again. I’ve been working as hard as I can, but I get really frustrated when my body gives out while my mind thinks I can do it. I have this mental block that if I stop to break like Shaun T (yes, me and the Insanity instructor are on a first name basis now) says you should if you are compromising form, I’m living up to the fat kid stereotype. What I need to remember is that I broke the fat kid stereotype almost a year ago when I turned my life around. I’m not going to slack, but I’m going to give it all I got and work as hard as I can each time.
Lunch: After Insanity, we need something dense for dinner so we went over to Chipotle. We did our due diligence on the Chipotle Nutrition Calculator and I figured out that the steak is the same amount of calories and fat of chicken and even less sodium than the chicken so I did an awesome steak burrito bowl with sour cream, cheese, fajita veggies and rice. It was awesome, and since I got hot salsa I had to drink a ton of water so win-win for the… win?
So today I was good on calories and fiber, but I went over on the fat (sour cream was 10 grams and the chips were 9 grams.) I knew where the fat was so I’ll be better next time. So today I had 1,745 calories, 73 grams of fat, and 37 grams of fiber or to calculate to WW points: 40 points. I know, the fat is bad but like I said, it happens and I’ll just keep the fat down the rest of the week. See ya tomorrow.
Breakfast: I just had a bowl of Kashi Awesomeness. As the good book says (no.. not Where’s Waldo?) it was good.
Lunch: After church, our friends Daniel and Leah invited us to go to lunch at El Mercardito, this Mexican place on Tennessee. Since leaving Texas, we’ve been really hard pressed to find good Mexican in Tallahassee (which isn’t necessarily a bad thing) but I think we found our new place. I had two chicken burritos and they were killer. Usually when I go to a Mexican place, I dominate the chips and salsa and I am completely full so after I’m done I feel gross. Luckily, the first basket was free, but then you paid after so we kept it to two baskets split between four of us so it wasn’t as bad.
Snack: I just had a bowl of Captain Crunch which actually not that bad (150 calories with a 1/2 cup of skim milk) and it was awesome.
SAWS!!!: Today was Pure Cardio day for Insanity and it was pretty brutal, maybe not the worst, but horrifically exhausting nonetheless. I worked really hard, but I worked not to overdo it like I did once or twice last week. I felt awesome after, but I have a feeling I’m going to be really sore tomorrow.
Dinner: We were in a bit of a rush tonight so we got subs freaky fast at Jimmy Johns. I had the Beach club which is basically the veggie sub I get but with turkey. I also got half the mayo since the ones in Tallahassee don’t have a light mayo option. It was pretty awesome.
Dessert: I had some Edy’s Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough FroYo.
So today wasn’t terrible, but this week I’m going to stick to my calories and work out like a beast to get closer to get to the top of Mt. Fitintoskinnyjeans. See ya tomorrow.
